Rams’ Sean McVay breaks down how Davante Adams inspires him every single day

As members of the Los Angeles Rams duke it out for a spot on the final 53-man roster, one player who doesn’t have to worry about his short-term future is Davante Adams, the 33-year-old superstar wide receiver entering his second season with Sean McVay’s squad.

Discussing what it’s been like to have Adams on the field and in his locker room heading into Year 2, McVay told reporters on Tuesday that he loves coaching the veteran wide receiver, as he inspires him every day to be his best.

“Oh man, well, you know, I have such respect for what he’s done and the way that he looks at this game. And he sees the game through the lens of a quarterback and really as a coach. And there’s a lot of love for the players on this team. But there’s a lot of love that I have for Devontae Adams,” McVay said.

“And he’s one of those guys that inspires me to bring it every single day. He brings it every single day, whether it’s on the practice field or, you know, on game day. And I love everything he’s about. He brings a great amount of swag to our team. And, you know, I love just kind of making sure that our guys feel like we’re in it with them. You know, that’s kind of just authentic to my personality. But he’s an easy guy to be able to work with. He makes it fun for me as a coach.”

Making the surprise move to Los Angeles after splitting his 2024 season between the Las Vegas Raiders and the New York Jets, Adams found immediate success as a member of the Rams, leading the NFL in touchdowns despite only appearing in 14 regular season games. With another offseason in the Rams’ offense and McVay clearly a fan of everything he brings to the table, it’s clear Adams is a player to watch in 2026, even with so many other high-profile weapons around him.
