Padres’ Fernando Tatis Jr. defies gravity with Francisco Lindor grand slam robbery

In just two innings of baseball between the San Diego Padres and New York Mets, Fernando Tatis Jr. put on a show in front of the fans in Queens.

It all started when he smashed a leadoff home run on the very first pitch of the game. The power is really heating up. Tatis Jr. now has 14 home runs on the season, while continuing to lead the league in hard-hit rate.

He did not stop there. In the bottom of the second inning, Tatis Jr. would go on to rob Francisco Lindor of a grand slam that would have given the Mets a 4-1 lead early.

This play all started because Robbie Ray walked three hitters to load the bases. Then, after Manny Machado got an out at the plate from Luis Torrens, Lindor stepped up to the plate. Lindor wasted no time, going opposite field for what should have been a grand slam. Instead, Tatis Jr. robbed yet another home run.

Padres fans witness these robberies multiple times a season. Tatis Jr. has two Platinum Gloves in right field exactly for this reason. The superstar outfielder can defy gravity with his athleticism.

The Padres currently lead the Mets 1-0 in the fourth inning.

Last week, Tatis Jr. spoke about his latest power surge.

“I feel like the situation of the game now is just taking care of itself. I thank God for the opportunity and for being healthy this time of the year. We’re going for it so it better be now or never,” Tatis told Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan.
