Jo Adell sets new career-high while fueling Guardians’ offense vs. Giants
The Cleveland Guardians started their game strong against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday thanks to Jo Adell. Guardians fans are well aware of how lackluster the team’s offense has been this season, but Adell made sure that trend did not continue on Tuesday. The outfielder went 3-3 through his first three at-bats while setting a new career-high in total RBI in a game with six.

Leaving runners in scoring position has especially been a problem for the Guards this year. With runners on first and second in the first inning in a 0-0 game, Guardians fans may have been waiting for the team to spoil the opportunity. Instead, Adell blasted a 455-foot three-run home run.

He continued to make a significant impact through his next couple of at-bats en route to setting the aforementioned new career-high in RBI.
The Guardians are still in the postseason conversation, but they have struggled at an alarming rate in recent weeks. The ball club acquired Adell in a trade before the deadline in hopes of giving the offense a boost. The 27-year-old had struggled for the most part since the trade, but he certainly made an impact against the Giants on Tuesday.
Perhaps Adell’s performance will give him a momentum boost moving forward.
It is worth noting that the game is not over as of this story’s writing. Jo Adell could realistically add even more RBI to his day. At the very least, he has set a new career-high for RBI in a single game, and that is an impressive feat.
