Following two dominating World Cup opening game performances, Germany were recently humbled by Ecuador during their 2-1 defeat at New York New Jersey Stadium. While fans expected to see Ecuador crash out of the tournament following their failure to win the first two games, the third match saw them secure a comfortable win over Germany.

And watching the thrilling contest from the stands was none other than Sabrina Carpenter. The 27-year-old Grammy Award-winning artist again embraced her inner soccer fan and made a surprise appearance at the World Cup, where she watched one of the best comebacks of this year’s campaign.

Now, a clip is going viral on social media, which shows Carpenter present at the World Cup with an acquaintance and watching the game using binoculars. Seated at a very elevated position in the stadium meant a very limited viewing experience for her. However, she evaded that limitation by carrying her binoculars.

The closing moments of the match saw Ecuador manager Sebastián Beccacece climb into the stands to celebrate his team’s dramatic victory.

He celebrated the win first in a tight huddle with his staff before heading for the seating behind the dugout and began scaling the stand. He climbed up to a barrier where his loved ones were seated and engaged in a group hug with them.

New York New Jersey Stadium is also scheduled to host this year’s FIFA World Cup final on Jul. 19, 2026. With still almost a month left for the tournament, the teams need to cross several more hurdles before reaching the semi-final and final stages of the tournament.
