Eagles’ Willie Lampkin gets a crucial endorsement from Nick Sirianni

With a few weeks of training camp officially in the books, one of the true bright spots of the Philadelphia Eagles’ summer program so far has been second-year interior lineman Willie Lampkin, who has seen extra action at center as starter Cam Jurgens has missed time due to injury.

Standing 5-f0ot-11, 290 pounds, Lampkin is one of the shortest offensive linemen in the NFL, but as Nick Sirianni noted on Monday, his tape has consistently impressed his coaches ahead of their preseason debut against the Baltimore Ravens.

“I’ve really seen Willie continue to get better and be more, I mean notice him even more once the pads have come on. And so, you know, he has the ability to play, you know, in the inside, in the center, on guard. Good versatility, smart guy, really athletic. He’s been fun to watch at the camp. I think we find ourselves, as coaches, you know, when we’re watching tape, just kind of being like, man, Willie did it again.

“And Willie’s getting some really good guys to go up against, and so that’s tested every day. You know, we’re just looking for him to continue to grow and continue to show what he can do, because, you know, it’s about consistency. We all want consistency. To have that steady growth and getting better, but you’re building trust, and I think Willie is building trust with his teammates because you build trust by consistently doing what you’re supposed to do out there. And Willie’s been doing that, and I don’t know any coaches, but, you know, we’re all impressed by Willie.”

Initially signing with the Los Angeles Rams as a UDFA after a successful college career at UNC in 2025, Lampkin was waived after suffering an injury during his rookie training camp. Seeing a chance to add an interesting weapon to one of the best run games in football, Howie Roseman claimed him, and the rest, as they say, is history. Lampkin didn’t play in 2025 but has an inside track to make the roster in 2026, where he could play guard, center, or potentially even earn action as an additional lineman, where his ability to make plays in space could create interesting looks for Sean Mannion’s offense.
