WWE star Liv Morgan’s WrestleMania status takes murky turn after concussion scare

Following the Apr. 6, 2026, edition of Monday Night RAW, WWE stars Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez were pushed into each other, resulting in an injury scare as they were placed in concussion protocol.

This was a scary moment, as WrestleMania 42 kicks off in under two weeks in Las Vegas. Will the concussion scare keep Morgan from participating in WrestleMania?

Bryan Alvarez spoke about Morgan’s status for the Showcase of the Immortals on the Wrestling Observer Live. Luckily, Morgan wasn’t “unconscious,” as Alvarez noted, but the collision was serious enough to land them in concussion protocol.

“They were both put in concussion protocol…” Alvarez said before conceding, “It’s wait and see.”

Alvarez further elaborated that he was told that if “WrestleMania was this weekend, that match probably ain’t happening.” However, Morgan will have about two weeks to recover from the time the bump occurred, so as he said, “We’ll see if it happens.”

Will Liv Morgan’s concussion affect WWE WrestleMania 42 match against Stephanie Vaquer?

As Alvarez reported, fans will have to “wait and see” if she’s able to make it to WrestleMania. It appears WWE will continue to monitor the situation and evaluate as the show approaches.

It would be a major blow if Morgan were unable to compete. She won her first Royal Rumble in January 2026 to earn her championship match at WrestleMania 42.

She had the choice of challenging Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship, which she has held twice, or Jade Cargill for the Women’s Championship, which she hasn’t held yet.

Morgan vs. Vaquer is confirmed to take place during WrestleMania 42 Saturday, on Apr. 18, assuming she is cleared from concussion protocol.

Morgan’s concussion scare occurred during a backstage segment with Roxanne Perez. While they were talking, Vaquer leapt in from off-screen, pushing Morgan into Perez.

Their heads collided, and it made a sound. After a momentary pause, Vaquer continued her attack, throwing Morgan through a TV.
