Premier League club exploring surprise Leon Goretzka deal after Bayern Munich exit
Aston Villa are exploring a deal to sign Leon Goretzka, talkSPORT understands.
The midfielder left Bayern Munich this summer after eight seasons, where he won seven Bundesliga titles.

Goretzka is also experienced at international level with 73 caps for the German national team.
He could be set for his first experience in the Premier League as Villa eye midfield reinforcements.
Villa were looking to sign his former Bayern teammate Joao Palhinha, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur.
However, he has now reunited with his ex-Fulham boss Marco Silva in Portugal at Benfica.
Goretzka would arrive at Villa Park with 327 Bundesliga appearances, as well as 73 outings in the Champions League.
The 31-year-old is also available as a free agent after his Bayern exit.
Who have Villa signed in midfield?
Early in July, Amadou Onana suffered an ACL injury whilst playing for Belgium at the World Cup.
Youri Tielemans then departed Villa a few days later, so it came as no surprise that they entered the market for midfielders.
Johan Manzambi was signed from SC Freiburg for £52million, and then Joao Gomes was brought in from rivals Wolves in a £38m move.
Elsewhere, left-back Matteo Ruggeri and goalkeeper Zion Suzuki have also joined a dismantled Villa side.

Morgan Rogers, Lucas Digne and Ezri Konsa have followed Tielemans out the exit this summer.
Ollie Watkins could also leave as he wants to join Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.
Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, a long-term target for Villa and ex-player of Unai Emery at Villarreal, could replace him.
Villa are also interested in Southampton centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
They begin their 2026/27 Premier League campaign on Sunday with a trip to Brighton.
