Warriors’ Stephen Curry breaks silence on landmark Li-Ning shoe deal

Just several months after ending his contract with Under Armour, Stephen Curry landed a new shoe deal with a Chinese-based company, Li-Ning. While this new partnership offers more than just a shoe line, the Golden State Warriors star opened up about the future of his Curry Brand with Li-Ning.

Overall, the 38-year-old guard seems excited about how Li-Ning will help his brand reach a global market, according to insider Brett Siegel. Curry seemingly loves the future outlook the company has for his brand and can’t wait for things to get started.

“At the end of the day, I truly believe that partnering with Li-Ning will allow Curry Brand to thrive,” said Curry. “Li-Ning is a total sports brand, and it’s also the basketball market share leader in China…

“Curry Brand will now have an expanded runway of resources and a global footprint to bring new best-in-class innovation and amazing products to people around the world. I couldn’t be more proud to build a long-term vision with Li-Ning that will fuel Curry Brand for years to come and unlock the full potential of this company on a global scale.”

The landmark 10-year deal not only provides a shoe line but will also offer a full golf line under Stephen Curry’s brand. It’s said that the four-time NBA champion can sign other players and athletes to his brand as well, making this signing with Li-Ning more of a partnership than an obligatory contract.

Stephen Curry is not the only NBA player who has a deal structured with Li-Ning. Warriors teammate Jimmy Butler signed with the company in late 2020. Meanwhile, CJ McCollum, Fred VanVleet, and D’Angelo Russell are all signed with the company as well.
