Blazers’ Micah Nori reveals 1 fun fact about his life journey

Micah Nori is now entering the biggest challenge of his coaching career as he tries to steer the Portland Trail Blazers back to the playoffs in his first year as the main play-caller.

Nori spent five years as an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves before the Trail Blazers hired him in June on a one-year deal with a reportedly below-market base salary. Many panned the meager contract, which was another example of the stingy approach of Tom Dundon, who brought the team in March.

Nori, however, was willing to take a risk.

The fans will get to know him better once the new season begins. In a video posted by the Trail Blazers on X, the 52-year-old mentor shared some facts about himself, including a very interesting one.

“I’ve lived in all four time zones,” said Nori.

He started his career as a scout for the Toronto Raptors in 2009 before being promoted to assistant coach. He also had stints with the Sacramento Kings, the Denver Nuggets, and the Detroit Pistons.

Nori, who grew up in Middletown, Ohio and attended college at Indiana University, has absorbed a lot of knowledge throughout the years, and his ample experience will be beneficial to the Trail Blazers.

He will have plenty of veteran leadership to aid him in his first year in Portland, with Damian Lillard and Jrue Holiday leading the way. He will not be lacking in two-way firepower as well, with Ja Morant, Deni Avdija, Shaedon Sharpe, Donovan Clingan, Toumani Camara, and Scoot Henderson in the rotation.

The Trail Blazers surprised many last season, earning the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
