Tiger Woods is reportedly open to return to golf following DUI
Tiger Woods reportedly still wants a chance on the green following his DUI arrest last month.
Woods was arrested on March 27 after being in a rollover crash in Jupiter, Florida. Following the crash, he spoke out on X that he would be seeking treatment.
“This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” he said at the time.
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery. I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally,” Woods continued. “I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and myself at this time.”
According to TMZ, his private plane was spotted in Zurich, Switzerland, which is home to prestigious rehabilitation centers such as Paracelsus Recovery and Kusnacht Practice.
A source is now sharing with People that he is trying to keep his support system around him and stay physically fit as he goes into treatment.
“He knows he needs to beat his issues and also deal with the pain from not only playing golf but also from his regular fitness schedule,” the source explains. “People around him are supporting him, both personally and professionally. All of this is helping him deal with it enough to get through it.”
The source also teases that he would be potentially interested in other tournaments including the Masters. He last won in 2019. Woods “still has golf in him,” the source adds but he “just wants to get better in all areas of his life,” the source notes.
Woods received charges for property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test and was later cited for careless driving. He plead not guilty to the charges. Woods will return to court on May 5.
