Tickets for Bills’ Highmark Stadium debut are already insane

The full NFL schedule is not out yet, but the Buffalo Bills know when they will open the new Highmark Stadium. They will start a new era in Orchard Park in the first Thursday Night Football game of the season. The Bills will host the Detroit Lions at the new Highmark Stadium on September 19, but ticket prices are insane.

Adam Schefter reported that the get-in price for the opening night at Highmark Stadium is $663 dollars. Bills Mafia is a loyal group with a lot of season-ticket holders, bringing the inventory way down. With high expectations for Joe Brady’s first season and a solid opponent in the Lions coming to town, this is a hard ticket to get.

The Bills know they will open their season on the road, and will likely do so on Sunday afternoon. They don’t have a road game with the Seattle Seahawks this season, so they won’t be on the Thursday Week 1 game. The New York Jets will start on the road as a product of the New York Giants starting at home, so you can scratch them out. And the Denver Broncos have their Week 1 opponent locked in already with the Kansas City Chiefs.

A great late-afternoon Sunday game to start the season would be the Bills travelling to Houston to face the Texans. After a dreadful performance in the playoffs, Houston has high expectations coming into 2026. The AFC is wide open, and these two teams could be set for a January rematch.

If Bills fans are looking for a cupcake opener, the Miami Dolphins would be a solid option. But that is a hot game in early September, so maybe a trip to play in the dome in Vegas would be better for Josh Allen and company.

Will you pay the outrageous price to be there to open Highmark Stadium?
