Stephen Vogt’s Chase DeLauter admission will catch Guardians fans’ attention
The Cleveland Guardians contain one of the best rookies in MLB in 2026. Outfielder Chase DeLauter is off to a blazing hot start to the season and is hitting an impressive .381 with a .997 OPS in May.
Manager Stephen Vogt dropped an admission on his rising star on SiriusXM.
"He hits the ball hard every time."

“Chase (DeLauter) works extremely hard,” Vogt said. “What has been impressive about Chase is that he has had some stretches where he hasn’t gotten some hits, but he has continued to walk and have quality at-bats. He hits the ball hard every time he makes contact. I think now, after watching him for a couple of months, that Chase is a really good, complete hitter who has the strength and power to hit the ball out of the yard.”
“He rarely tries to do too much; he is taking what the pitchers give him, he is making adjustments on the fly. It has just been an extremely mature approach, 150-160 plate appearances in. It’s been really cool to see that development.”
The Guardians are in great hands with an incredible manager who knows a ton of ball playing in this league. With DeLauter and fellow rookie Travis Bazzana, the future of the team, Guardians fans must be overjoyed.
So far this season, DeLauter is hitting .294 with an .879 OPS. He has already earned a 1.0 WAR, and we are halfway through May. In 143 PA’s, he has six home runs, 26 RBIs, 20 walks, 10 doubles, and one triple. It seems like every single game, he is making an impact one way or another.
