Arsenal could sign Victor Osimhen as they offer academy star to Galatasaray

Arsenal have held talks with Galatasaray over the sales of various squad members, including Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.

talkSPORT told you last weekend how the Turkish champions made an initial enquiry over the potential signing of Martinelli, and their interest has since intensified.

Martinelli is the subject of a verbal offer worth £38.5million but talkSPORT understands there is reluctance from the Brazilian to move to Turkey.

Meanwhile, the talks between the two clubs has also raised the subject of Osimhen‘s availability.

Osimhen has been linked with a Premier League switch for years but his move to the English top flight from Napoli never materialised as he opted to join Galatasaray on loan in 2024 before making the move permanent last summer.

As for Nwaneri, the 19-year-old academy star is another player Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for this summer.

Shock swap?

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has been tasked with ensuring the club are active sellers this summer while also strengthening the squad.

He and assistant Maurizio Michele have done a good job of adding to the Gunners’ resources and could use their strong relationships in Turkey in order to offload some players.

Leandro Trossard was sold to Istanbul-based Besiktas for £17m earlier this summer.

And they could sell more players this summer with Martinelli a potential outgoing to Galatasaray.

talkSPORT understands the 25-year-old is content to stay at the Emirates Stadium and is not sold on the idea of moving to the Turkish Super Lig, however.

Arsenal will sanction an exit if a replacement is signed and if their valuation is met with the opening offer said to be below that.

If Martinelli does end up staying, Arsenal’s hopes of landing Osimhen could hinge on Nwaneri’s willingness to go to Galatasaray.

Nwaneri, who broke the record for being Arsenal’s youngest ever player and the youngest player to ever appear in the top flight of English football, has been with Arsenal since he was eight years old.

Arsenal’s summer business

The reigning Premier League champions aren’t resting on their laurels having made four signings during this transfer window.

Their highest-profile deal so far was completed last weekend as Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes arrived from Newcastle in a £75m deal.

Arsenal shelled out £34m to bring in Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge while former Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier arrived on a free transfer.

The north London outfit also made defender Piero Hincapie’s loan switch from Bayer Leverkusen a permanent one.
