Sky’s DiJonai Carrington slapped with technical foul after heated moment vs.Valkyries
It seems Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington cannot stay out of trouble.
Carrington found herself in the spotlight recently for her controversial remark after her heated moment with Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham. Carrington was ejected from the game after being called for a flagrant foul 2 on Cunningham. Later on, the outspoken playmaker posted “WHITE PRIVILEGE” on Threads and tagged the Fever.
The 28-year-old Carrington was not penalized by the WNBA or the Sky. She suited up against the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center on Wednesday. She was issued a technical foul with 1:26 left in the third quarter after complaining about a no-foul call on her missed layup.

Carrington struggled in the game, scoring only three points on 1-of-9 shooting from the field in 24 minutes off the bench. She had three rebounds and three turnovers.
The Valkyries routed the Sky, 91-71. Golden State, which won its fifth straight game and improved to 24-9, led by as much as 23 points. Chicago, on the other hand, dropped to 12-21.
Carrington, who was urged to stop gaslighting on social media, has not apologized for her punchy comment. She denied that she was talking about her ejection against the Fever.
“I actually went to school, one of the top universities, might I add, to educate myself on this exact subject. I would never use that term as a rhetorical weapon, knowing the historical and social weight it holds without having the proper evidence to substantiate it,” wrote Carrington on X.
The Sky will face the Seattle Storm on Sunday.
