Kevin Love reveals wild LeBron James Toronto Wi-Fi story

Just a few days following LeBron James’ decision to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, rumors popped up that Kevin Love wants to get reunited with his former teammate. Love is an unrestricted free agent after spending last season with the Utah Jazz.

James and Love won a title together with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, and teaming up again for a final act in Philadelphia could be a great story. Love, however, remains unsigned.

In the meantime, the 37-year-old forward is busy reminiscing about his memorable moments with the 41-year-old James. In an interview with Bleacher Report, Love revealed that James always refused to spend money on an internet connection when they were on the road against the Toronto Raptors.

“I’ve seen it a million times in Toronto. They talk about wealth and all that. It’s the things you don’t see. For him, if we’re in Toronto, that drive from the airport and going through customs to then getting to our hotel, there’s no data used at all,” said Love.

“He’s waiting for the Wi-Fi all the time. Then that drive from the hotel to the arena, Air Canada, also waits to get to the arena Wi-Fi.”

James has earned a fair amount of money in his career. Only $1.4 billion, to be exact.

The four-time MVP has spent his money wisely, starting different businesses and investing in various ventures. Love stressed that it was fascinating how James could be stingy for something as simple as an internet connection.

“What’s the finance saying? ‘A small leak can sink a great ship.’ I can appreciate it. It’s not like I’m mad at him. But come on, bro. It’s just roaming.”

James signed a two-year contract worth $8 million with the 76ers, living up to his camp’s earlier pronouncement that it is not about money but the chance to compete for another championship.

He and Love vacationed together in Europe in June, along with several ex-teammates on the Cavaliers, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their championship.
