Released WWE rising star signs with TNA and undergoes name change

Four months after being released by WWE, former Superstar Zoey Stark has landed a new gig in TNA, debuting on the latest episode of Impact.

During the Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, edition of Impact, Stark made her debut in TNA as a heel, attacking another former WWE star, Indi Hartwell. She debuted under the ring name Zoey Serrano. Serrano is her real last name. She has gone by Zoey Serrano since rejoining the indies after her WWE release.

TNA later confirmed the signing, making it clear that she is a full-fledged member of the roster. It appears she will be feuding with Hartwell upon her debut.

Zoey Stark’s WWE career before her release

Before joining TNA, Stark was in WWE from 2021 to 2026. She was released while on a hiatus from her knee injury. Stark suffered a knee injury in May 2025 in a Money in the Bank-qualifying match against Kairi Sane and Rhea Ripley.

That would be her final appearance in WWE. She was released in April 2026, ending her five-year tenure with the company, before she had made her return from injury.

She returned to the independent circuit after her WWE release. Stark would get to reunite with her former WWE tag team partner, Shayna Baszler, in Revolution Pro Wrestling.

Now, she appears to have found a home in TNA. TNA and WWE frequently work together. Perhaps she will make a return to her former employer at some point.

During her WWE tenure, the only title she won was the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship, which she won with Iyo Sky, who was known as Io Shirai at the time.

While on the main roster, Stark was mostly a midcard talent. She started as Trish Stratus’ sidekick in her feud against Becky Lynch in 2023. Eventually, she would go off on her own and begin teaming with Baszler. However, they never won tag team gold.
