Trevor Lawrence gives flowers to Jaguars ‘grinder’ receiver
The Jacksonville Jaguars have been getting some good things out of their players in training camp and preseason, and that could prove to be big when the regular season arrives. On offense, wide receiver Parker Washington has caught the eye of many, and he recently had a solid joint practice against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Trevor Lawrence knows what he can do on the field, but also sees the work he puts in when he’s not practicing.
“He’s a grinder. Sometimes he’s in here, like 5:00am, 4:30am. He’s in here crazy hours. I think he might sleep here,” Lawrence said to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
I asked #Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence about WR Parker Washington, who has been the star of training camp:

Whatever Washington is doing, it seems to be working, which is good news for him and the team. Washington has been with the Jaguars for four seasons, and last season was his best, finishing with 847 yards and five touchdowns. That’s something to build on going into his fourth year, and he can prove to be a reliable receiver once again.
The Jaguars have a solid receiver core with Washington, Brian Thomas Jr. and Jakobi Meyers, and they should make Lawrence’s job easy. It was a big reason why they were able to make it to the playoffs last season, but they lost to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round. They’ll look to make a deeper push this season, and the hope is that they have the right pieces in place to do so.
For Washington, if he can get all of his teammates up that early in the morning to get the day started, the Jaguars may be destined for ultimate success on the field.
