NHL rumors: Insider makes eye-opening claim about trade requests amid Dylan Larkin drama
As most NHL teams look towards the offseason, teams are deciding the future of multiple players, while players are also trying to decide their future as well. One of those players is Dylan Larkin, who has requested a trade away from the Detroit Red Wings.
Now, one insider believes that the Larkin trade request will not be the last one seen this offseason, per The FAN Hockey Show.
“I don’t think this is going to be the last trade request we get this off-season. I’ve been working on others,” hockey insider Elliotte Friedman said while appearing on the show.
There are lots of options for potentially disgruntled players looking for a new home. Auston Matthews has been seen as a potential player looking for a trade. After a disappointing season with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2025-26, leading to a new coach and GM, Matthews would be a candidate to request a trade.
There is also the possibility that Brady Tkachuk could be asking for a move from the Ottawa Senators. Tkachuk shut down trade rumors at the end of the season, but they have been persistent in the last year, and there have been questions about his future in Ottawa.
Matvei Michkov could also be on the way out in Philadelphia. Once seen as the future of the franchise for the Philadelphia Flyers, Michkov is no longer seen as untouchable. He was benched multiple times during the playoffs, and the relationship with the team could be souring.
While those are just potential options, there could be more surprising names to come. For the latest NHL Rumors and rumblings, stay with ClutchPoints for breaking NHL news.
