Mike LaFleur hilariously roasts brother Matt before HOF game

The stars arrived for the 2026 NFL Hall of Fame Game between the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers on Thursday. It marked the official beginning of the NFL preseason.

It also marked the beginning of Mike LaFleur as head coach of the Cardinals. Before the game, Mike’s brother Matt, head coach of the Packers, surprised him during the NBC broadcast, per Zach Jacobson of PackerDispatch.com. Matt took the time out to playfully tease Mike. He asked if he had challenge flags ready to go, and Mike responded brotherly.

“I told the officials I’m not going to slam them down like my brother does,” Mike said.

The LaFleur brothers are part of a unique class of brothers who held head coaching positions in the NFL. The others were John and Jim Harbaugh, Jon and Jay Gruden, and Al and Ted Nesser.

Both brothers have been on similar journeys in gaining experience as offensive coaches. Mike served as an Atlanta Falcons offensive assistant from 2015 to 2016 and was the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach for the San Francisco 49ers from 2016 to 2020.

Then, Mike served as the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets (2021-22) and Los Angeles Rams (2023-25).

As for Matt, he began as an offensive assistant for the Houston Texans. Then he moved on to become the QB coach for the Washington Commanders, Notre Dame, and the Falcons from 2008 to 2016.

Matt was the offensive coordinator for the Rams in 2017 and the Tennessee Titans in 2018. He’s been the head coach for the Packers since 2019.
