Lonzo Ball makes mind-blowing Ball in the Family admission
Lonzo Ball shares what he is recognized the most for and it may surprise you.
The Cleveland Cavaliers star shared with his brother LiAngelo Ball, DMO, and Ant on Ball in the Family podcast that when fans come up to him, a lot of them don’t reference the fact that he’s a professional basketball player at first. Many recognize Lonzo from their former family reality show, Ball in the Family.
“I meet people to this day that know me from the show, not even from hoop…All the rookies coming to the team the last 3 years, everybody I’m meeting is like ‘I love your show, man,’” Lonzo said on the April 8 episode of the podcast.

Ball in the Family was a reality show that premiered on Facebook Watch in 2017, which followed the personal and professional lives of Lonzo, LiAngelo, their younger brother LaMelo Ball, father LaVar Ball, and mom Tina Ball. The show went on for six seasons, with the last airing on December 20, 2020. The show followed the brothers’ romantic relationships, running a business as a family, and the ultimate pursuit of the NBA.
Lonzo ended up getting drafted in 2017 when he was selected as the second overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers. The eldest Ball currently plays for the Cavaliers. LaMelo followed in his footsteps and was the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets where he currently plays. Gelo, who in age is between the two aforementioned brothers, has not been on an official regular roster of a NBA team and went undrafted in 2018. He signed training camp deals with the Detroit Pistons (2020) and the Hornets (2021 and 202. However he was able to be drafted 14th overall pick in the 2021 NBA G League Draft by the Hornets’ affiliate Greensboro Swarm. Gelo has since pursued his career in rap which took off in 2025 with his breakout hit, “Tweaker.”
