Knicks’ Jalen Brunson responds to odd ‘world peace’ question after Game 4 win

Despite all the evil and injustices in the world, there are still many things to be thankful for. Watching Jalen Brunson play basketball is one of them.

Brunson powered the New York Knicks to the biggest comeback in the history of the NBA Finals, climbing back from a 29-point deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs, 107-106, in Game 4 at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old Brunson tallied game-highs of 36 points and seven assists on top of five rebounds and three steals. He shot 12-of-25 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line.

In the postgame conference, a reporter asked the three-time All-Star what is most important to him: Winning as MVP, winning a championship, or world peace. The crafty guard let out a chuckle before giving the perfect answer.

“The most important thing for me over these next 48 hours is focusing on what we have to do to win Game 5,” said Brunson.

He sank back-to-back crucial buckets in the fourth quarter, including a floater that gave the Knicks their first taste of the lead, 105-104, with 1:22 left.

Fans gave Brunson credit for his courteous reply.

“Good answer to a bad question,” said @Mets2026.

“Locked in so hard, even world peace had to wait for Game 5,” added @Gidi_Sr1.

“Honestly, the humor in it is perfect, but it also shows exactly why this Knicks team didn’t blink when they were down 29 points in Game 4. When your leader refuses to look even five minutes into the future or look at the bigger picture of individual MVP awards, the rest of the roster follows suit,” wrote @Floxybby.

“Brunson’s focus never leaves the mission,” observed @kickfa1.

“Build the f****** statue,” commented @slide4cokiemane.

With the way they have been starving for success for over five decades, people in New York would probably take an NBA title over world peace for now.

The Knicks can finish off the Spurs in Game 5 at Frost Bank Center on Saturday.
