Giants’ John Harbaugh has 1 request for Cam Skattebo amid injury recovery

The New York Giants are just over three months away from kicking off their 2026 NFL season. The Giants will take the field this year with John Harbaugh as their new head coach, hiring him after he parted ways with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this offseason.

The Giants have several intriguing young players on their roster, including running back Cam Skattebo, who became a fan favorite last year before an ankle injury ended his season about halfway through the campaign.

Now, Harbaugh has revealed his one request for Skattebo during the Giants’ practice sessions.

“I did tell him no back flips,” Harbaugh said, per Ralph Vacchiano of FOX Sports on X, formerly Twitter.

Vacchiano also reported that “…Harbaugh was understandably thrilled that RB Cam Skattebo was healthy enough to do some light work at Giants practice today.”

Overall, Skattebo figures to be a key part of the Giants’ young core of players, although some fans have expressed concern for how long he might hold up due to his violent style of running the ball.

Meanwhile, the Giants are also excited about what Jaxson Dart and Malik Nabers might be able to do next season. Dart had an up and down rookie season after taking over for Russell Wilson a few weeks into the 2025 season, while Nabers had begun to establish himself as one of the top wideouts in the NFL before suffering an unfortunate ACL injury.

Harbaugh will hope to integrate these young pieces with veteran talent, including franchise legend Odell Beckham Jr., whom the team recently signed in free agency.

The Giants are set to kick off their 2026 season on September 13 against the divisional rival Dallas Cowboys at home.
