Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll isn’t playing vs. Giants after injury scare, but there’s no need to worry

Arizona Diamondbacks star Corbin Carroll scored a little league home run during the team’s 5-3 victory against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday. During the play, Carroll was hit in the helmet while sliding into third base, which led to the ball getting away and Carroll ultimately scoring. Carroll is not playing on Wednesday against the Giants, but manager Torey Lovullo provided an encouraging update on the outfielder before the game, via Nick Piecoro.

“Torey Lovullo says Corbin Carroll could play today after getting bonked on the head by a throw but wanted to give him a day off anyway and today made the most sense to him. No symptoms, feels good,” Piecoro reported.

Carroll dealt with injury concerns earlier in the season, but it appears this incident will not keep Carroll out for too long. Nevertheless, the Diamondbacks are understandably proceeding with caution.

The two-time All-Star is playing well so far during the ’26 campaign. He is currently hitting .285/.395/.563 across 45 games played. Carroll has also hit seven home runs, 11 doubles and a league leading six triples. He’s led the league in triples for the past three seasons as well. Additionally, Carroll has six stolen bases as well.

He makes a significant all-around impact to say the least. The Diamondbacks are a better team with Carroll on the field.

For now, they will attempt to defeat the Giants despite his absence from Wednesday’s lineup. The Diamondbacks will continue to monitor and provide updates on Corbin Carroll’s injury status as they are made available.
