Cam Skattebo’s 2,000-yard declaration has Giants fans bashing his big brain math skills
The New York Giants are feeling confident ahead of the 2026 season. New York made some big improvements during the offseason and could be contenders in the NFC East division race. One Giants player even made a ridiculous bold prediction for himself ahead of the new season.
Giants running back Cam Skattebo made a puzzling prediction that brings his math skills into question.
“I do not consider that successful for me,” Skattebo said, per NFL.com’s Kevin Patra. “I had 400 yards on 100 carries. When I play 17-plus games this year, it’s going to be 300 carries for over 2,000 yards.”
Unsurprisingly, Giants fans had their fun at Skattebo’s expense on social media.
“You can smell the CTE on his breath when he talks,” one fan wrote.
Skattebo made waves back in March after he claimed that Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) was not real. The jokes write themselves after his stunning math fail.
“Maybe he’s also counting horizontal yards in a carry…” another fan joked.
One fan even suggested that Skattebo would have to play for a different team to hit that mark.
“So he’s gonna play for a different team? Ain’t no way he gets 250 touches and 1400 yards, much less 300 and 2000, for the Giants,” one fan declared.
Skattebo suffered a serious ankle injury during his rookie season that limited him to 101 carries for 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He recent guaranteed that he will be ready for Week 1 despite not having totally recovered from that ankle injury.
Ultimately, Skattebo’s aggressive mindset and confidence are exactly what the Giants want from their new culture. But that does not guarantee that it will translate onto the gridiron.
It will be fascinating to see if Skattebo can silence his doubters during his sophomore season.
