Andre Lima vs. Kevin Borjas prediction, odds, pick for UFC Vegas 119

We’re back with another prediction and pick for UFC Vegas 119 as we turn attention towards the Featured Prelim bout taking place in the Flyweight (125) Division. Brazil’s rising Andre Lima will take on Peru’s Kevin Borjas in what should be a frantic scrap to cap-off the Prelims. Check our UFC odds series for the Lima-Borjas prediction and pick.

Andre Lima (11-0) is a perfect 4-0 inside the UFC since 2024, most recently putting away Daniel Barez via submission back in March 2025. He hasn’t fought since due to a number of fight cancellations and withdrawals in the year since, so he’s ready to make a long-awaited appearance as he comes into this fight the stern betting favorite. Lima stands 5-foot-7 with a 67.5-inch reach.

Kevin Borjas (10-5) is currently 1-4 against UFC competition since 2023 and comes into this bout following back-to-back losses against Sumudaerji and Imanol Rodriguez. Billed as the heavy underdog once again, this could be a pivotal fight in preserving his roster spot as he’ll look for one of the more surprising upsets of this card. Borjas stands 5-foot-5 with a 68-inch reach.

Kevin Borjas: +470

Over 2.5 rounds: -130

Under 2.5 rounds: +100

Why Andre Lima Will Win

  • Last Fight: (W) Daniel Barez – SUB (rear naked choke, R3)
  • Last 5: 5-0
  • Finishes: 5 KO/TKO, 1 SUB

Andre Lima added the first submission win of his pro career during his last bout against Daniel Barez, already dominating the fight with his striking but putting an exclamation point on the final finish. Lima comes from a deep Muay Thai and kickboxing background, lethal with his striking combinations and consistent use of his leg kicks. He was notably bitten by Igor Severino in 2024 leading to one of his wins and came in heavy on the scales in his win over Mitch Raposo.

Furthermore, Lima hasn’t fought in over a year and he’s had three fights fall through since his last outing against Barez. Assuming he’s healthy and dialing his weight cut properly, Lima will be the stern favorite to end this fight inside the distance with his aggressive striking and kicks to all three levels. One of his most dangerous weapons is the right leg kick to the body, so be on the lookout as he’ll be trying to wear Borjas down from the opening bell.

While the time away from competition could impact Lima negatively, he’s been very consistent in his appearances up to this point and will have a willing striker in Borjas to work against in this one. Lima should look to engage Borjas quickly and since his opponent isn’t a huge knockout threat, Lima should be able to walk through his offense rather easily in this fight.

Why Kevin Borjas Will Win

  • Last Fight: (L) Imanol Rodriguez – TKO (strikes, R2)
  • Last 5: 1-4
  • Finishes: 8 KO/TKO

Kevin Borjas is still trying to find some kind of momentum inside the UFC as he’s lost back-to-back bouts for the second time since joining the promotion. Two of those losses came by way of knockout while the other two were unanimous decisions against him, so it’s going to take a convincing finish as the heavy underdog for Borjas to get back in the good graces of the UFC ahead of future contract negotiations. A win over Lima could extend his tenure and springboard him into a potential winning run.

Borjas is very attentive on the feet and is constantly throwing feints to disrupt his opponent’s timing. His eight knockout wins have all stemmed from his step-in punches followed by quick follow-up shots, something he can certainly use to catch Lima off-guard in this one. If Borjas is able to land his right hand with full force, don’t be surprised if he’s able to drop Lima at any point in this fight.

Still, Borjas hasn’t been able to find any sort of consistency throughout a full three-round fight and while his UD win over Ronaldo Rodriguez was impressive, he’s not able to string together similar performances in succession. The hope is that he finds a new gear and makes this a competitive bout.

Final Andre Lima-Kevin Borjas Prediction & Pick

The dynamics of this fight are interesting as Kevin Borjas will be fighting with his back against the wall looking to improve his 1-4 start in the UFC. Andre Lima has seen nothing but success up to this point, but he’s been inactive for over a year and may be shaking off some rust as he steps into the octagon on Saturday.

Andre Lima is the clear side here as he has more finishing capabilities on the feet and on the ground. Kevin Borjas should offer some early resistance on the feet, but ultimately it will be Lima pressing the action and coming away with the more impactful exchanges.

For our final prediction, let’s roll with Andre Lima to win in convincing fashion as he gets it done inside the distance with a knockout.
