Raiders veteran’s training camp takeaway shines bright light on Klint Kubiak

The Las Vegas Raiders have been taking part in training camp for the past week as they gear up for the upcoming NFL season. The Raiders are being coached by Klint Kubiak, who came over to accept the head coaching job in Las Vegas after helping lead the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl last year.

Recently, Raiders punter AJ Cole spoke on the team’s chemistry during training camp in a statement that will raise some eyebrows about Kubiak’s coaching prowess.

“It does seem to feel like we have a cohesive vision, a collective buy-in, and I think that the number of people swimming in the same direction is definitely in an all-time high,” said Cole, per Ryan McFadden of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Last year, the Raiders looked like a directionless franchise for the most part, finishing with the worst record in the league, which allowed them to select quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza out of Indiana with the top pick in this past NFL Draft.

The Raiders have since brought in quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is expected to start initially, in free agency, although the keys will inevitably be turned over to Mendoza at some point sooner or later.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas also had a bizarre saga involving star pass rusher Maxx Crosby, who was at first traded to the Baltimore Ravens before the deal was rescinded due to a failed physical. However, all the reports from training camp suggest that Crosby has looked like the Pro Bowl version of himself so far.

In any case, the Raiders are slated to get their new season underway on September 13 with a home game against the Miami Dolphins.
