Tucker Kraft already returning to ‘star role’ in Packers offense after PUP activation
With the Green Bay Packers’ offense preparing for the 2026 season, the unit has gotten a huge boost with the recent news regarding tight end Tucker Kraft. As Kraft is returning to the Packers after tearing his ACL last November, he’s already starting to show signs of how much he’ll be utilized in the offense.
Having been activated from the active/PUP list on Friday, The Athletic’s Green Bay reporter Matt Schneidman would note that Kraft is “gradually returning to a star role” with the team, playing a “crucial part” in Sunday’s practice. Video would show Kraft running routes and working with quarterbacks such as star Jordan Love.
“Packers tight end Tucker Kraft is gradually returning to a star role in Green Bay’s offense, and he has been a crucial part of today’s practice,” Schneidman wrote.
“Tucker Kraft just spent a while running routes and catching passes from Jordan Love and the other QBs,” Schneidman wrote on X.

Packers’ Tucker Kraft reflects on injury recovery
The Packers tight end, Kraft, has been ascending season-by-season, as last season was on track to potentially be his best yet, recording 32 receptions with 489 yards and six touchdowns until Week 9 last season, when he tore his ACL. Fast forward to today, and cleared for training camp, Kraft would speak Friday about his recovery.
“I’m just worried about getting back to who I was pre-injury. I had a great meeting this morning with the guys from the Badger Lab, Dr. Hendershot. He told me my knee looks spectacular, almost like he’s never seen a rehabilitation like mine. The fact that we’re getting those results, the data will speak for itself. And my comeback is ever ascending day by day,” Kraft said, via Ari Meirov.

At any rate, it remains to be seen how Kraft progresses throughout the rest of the offseason heading into preseason and eventually Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 13. There’s no denying that the 25-year-old tight end will be a focal point of the Packers’ offense led by Love.
