The Dallas Cowboys have some incredibly high expectations ahead of the 2026 season. Dallas spent the offseason fixing their terrible defense, which could change everything this fall. If the Cowboys finally have a defense on par with their offense, then this could be a special season for America’s Team.

Dallas has some incredible fantasy football assets on their offense. Dak Prescott exploded for 4,500 yards and 30 touchdowns last season. That was great news for both CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, who both look like great options in 2026 too.

While the big pieces are already in place, there are still a few training camp battles that could move the needle from a fantasy football perspective.

Which Cowboys players could improve their fantasy stock during training camp?

Fantasy football managers need to keep their eyes on these two important Cowboys training camp battles over the next month.

Can Jaydon Blue beat out Malik Davis for RB2 duties?

One big question is whether or not the Cowboys can create another fantasy-viable running back beyond Javonte Williams.

There’s no question that Williams will be the lead back after his 1,200-yards season in 2025. The Cowboys even rewarded Williams with a $24 million extension back in February.

Dallas will have second-year back Jaydon Blue and veteran Malik Davis competing for backup duties behind Williams. That job belonged to Davis in 2025, but it seems legitimately up for grabs this summer.

But before getting too deep in the that battle, can the Cowboys even support another fantasy option in their offense?

It certainly looks possible, at least when combining their production from last season. They combined for 90 carries for 379 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns as well as  three receptions, and 21 receiving yards. If that production were consolidated into one player, they could become a valuable bench player in 2026.

Fantasy football managers should prefer Blue simply because of his receiving upside. He flashed potential in his final collegiate season, hauling in 42 receptions for 368 receiving yards and six touchdowns at Texas in 2024.

The path to prominence for Blue involves consolidating carries and securing the team’s third-down running back role.

This battle is far from over, but Blue is clearly the fantasy asset to root for throughout the rest of training camp.

Will both Ryan Flournoy and KaVontae Turpin be viable fantasy options in 2026?

Both Flournoy and Turpin were useful fantasy players in most formats during the 2025 season. But will that continue in 2026?

The answer should depend on how each player performs during training camp over the next month. On paper, it would be very surprising if Flournoy and Turpin did not enter Week 1 at WR3 and WR4. But that does not guarantee that they will receive the same target volume that they enjoyed last year.

Flournoy plays the X receiver role, whereas Turpin is more of a gadget player and return specialist. So neither player is battling for the other’s exact role, but they are competing for touches in general.

Flournoy looks poised to have a breakout season and should join Pickens and Lamb in three wide receiver sets. That means he should have plentiful opportunities for a career year. But if Flournoy struggles when Dallas runs their base offense, they may be forced to give players like Turpin more touches to compensate.

Turpin’s return ability is important because most leagues will award points for return yards and touchdowns. Those points give him some some stability and a high floor. But his lack of a traditional role means Turpin’s production could be very streaky.

Ultimately, whichever player wins the WR3 job should be the better fantasy option on paper. That said, Flournoy may need to really improve his game to compete with Turpin’s points from returns.
