Young WWE star provides 6-week X-ray update on scary neck injury after surgery

Six weeks after getting surgery to repair her neck injury, WWE Superstar Piper Niven appeared to be in high spirits while updating her fans with a picture of her latest X-ray.

On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Niven took to social media to share an image of an X-ray of her neck. She wrote, “6-week post-surgery check-up today. Everything fusing nicely.”

She followed that up five minutes later with a joke. Niven, who is bisexual, joked that her neck is “straighter than my sexual preferences.”

Will Piper Niven return to WWE from her neck injury?

Niven’s injury presumably occurred during her last WWE match. She last competed in a match during the Aug. 22, 2025, edition of Friday Night SmackDown. That night, she defeated Charlotte Flair in a singles match.

Shortly after, it was reported that she suffered a serious neck injury. After disappearing for a while, Bryan Alvarez noted that it happened during a routine bump, but it could be a “career ender.”

Obviously, nothing is set in stone. Niven just got surgery, so she will be rehabbing the injury soon. She responded to a post by William Regal about his neck problems by saying, “The line between ‘But I feel fine!’ and ‘I just want to feel ok again is horrifically thin and you have zero idea how close you are teetering on the edge of it.”

Before her injury, Niven was part of Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice, a play on the Secret Service. Green formed the group, which also featured Alba Fyre before her release, after winning the Women’s United States Championship.

Niven and Green’s partnership predates the Secret Hervice. After Sonya Deville suffered an ACL injury, Niven stepped in to serve as the second half of the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Green. They held the titles for 126 days before losing them to Kayden Carter and Katana Chance.
