WWE star Chelsea Green’s husband calls out Knicks’ Josh Hart

After he celebrated Chelsea FC’s win against Fulham the other day, WWE Superstar and Chelsea Green’s husband, Matt Cardona, called out New York Knicks star Josh Hart.

On Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, Hart excitedly celebrated the win, writing, “LET’S GO CHELSEA!!!” on X, formerly Twitter. This prompted Cardona to jokingly defend his wife, responding, “Are you serious, bro? That’s my wife!!!”

More than likely, Cardona knows that Hart was not referring to his wife. Still, he recently stood up to Gunther, who disrespected Green, on Friday Night SmackDown.

Hart is coming off his first-ever NBA championship with the Knicks. His team beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games in the NBA Finals to win the title. His close friend, Jalen Brunson, is a big WWE fan. Perhaps Hart will mix it up with Cardona in the ring.

WWE stars Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green’s relationship

Cardona and Green have been together for almost a decade. They started dating in January 2017, and they got engaged a couple of years later in April 2019. Their wedding was held on Dec. 31, 2021.

They have been co-workers for a while. After Cardona was released by WWE in 2020, he worked on the independent circuit. His wife would also be released in 2021, joining the indies as well, before returning to WWE in 2023.

Since coming back to WWE in 2023, Green has carved out a role for herself on the main roster. She became the first-ever Women’s United States Champion in 2024, and she has held the title twice. In 2026, she finally won her first world championship, winning a ladder match to be crowned the interim Women’s Champion.

Cardona, meanwhile, would take a while to return to WWE. He was brought back as part of the TNA invasion storyline in NXT in October 2025. The following month, he would compete in the “Last Time is Now” tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent. He would later make his full-fledged return in January 2026, competing in the Royal Rumble on Jan. 31.
