WWE news: LA Knight claims puzzling Brock Lesnar Royal Rumble moment ‘went differently than’ originally planned

Earlier this year, before Oba Femi clashed with Brock Lesnar at WWE WrestleMania 42, LA Knight was heavily rumored to face Lesnar at the “Grandest Stage of them All.” While, many fans were happy to see Knight get his highly deserved spot in WWE, others believed the rumored feud to be quite random, since WWE also had Gunther and Femi as potential opponents for Lesnar.

As the rumors steadily surfaced, fans were treated to Cody Rhodes and LA Knight eliminating Brock Lesnar from the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. During Knight’s latest appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, he opened up about eliminating Lesnar from the Rumble and confirmed that plans involving him and Lesnar did not go the way they were “supposed to.”

“I did [eliminate Brock Lesnar]. I’ll tell that story someday, but it feels too new and fresh to me. But I’ll just say things went differently than they were supposed to,” Knight recalled while talking about the elimination.

While Knight did not get into specifics of the situation, the former United States Champion teased that while the puzzling high-profile elimination did not lead to anything, the promotion possibly once had different plans for him and Lesnar.

LA Knight addresses his wrestling future

In the same interview with Chris Van Vliet, LA Knight, 43, opened up about his wrestling future. When asked if he would like to wrestle in his 50s, Knight answered, “No! f**k no. Would I like to be able to come in and maybe do an occasional appearance? Yeah, sure, maybe. But I don’t think I’ve been built up to the point where I can do like an Undertaker-type thing or an Austin thing or something like that. So I don’t think that’s in my future either. So it’s pretty much gonna be at some point when I decide to call it, I’m gonna disappear in the sunset, and you’ll just never see me again.”
