Dolphins’ Jeff Hafley reveals how fans screwed over Packers in Eagles opener last season

The Miami Dolphins are currently gearing up for the new 2026 NFL season, which is slated to begin for them in just over a week. The Dolphins will be led this year by new head coach Jeff Hafley, who came in after being the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers over the last two seasons.

The Dolphins also brought in passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo this offseason after his lone disastrous season as the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, and recently, Hafley revealed an interesting anecdote from a game between the Packers and Eagles last season.

“Dolphins PGC Kevin Patullo shocked Jeff Hafley when he told him earlier this summer that, last season, the Eagles had half of the Packers defense pressure packages on tape ahead of the week 1 matchup between the teams because they were recorded by fans at training camp,” reported The List – Dolphins Podcast on X, formerly Twitter.

“We had a pressure I had never run, so there’s no way he could’ve known about it. And they knew it was coming. (Kevin) said they saw it on video,” said Hafley.

It’s certainly a reminder that every little advantage matters when competing at the NFL level.

The Dolphins will need every edge they can get this season as they enter a year in which many fans expect that they will be one of, if not the, worst team in the NFL. Miami parted with quite a bit of talent this offseason, and will now be helmed by free agent signee Malik Willis at the quarterback position.

In any case, the Dolphins are slated to kick off their new season on September 13 vs the Las Vegas Raiders.
