Rams’ Myles Garrett joins Aaron Donald in NFL Top 100 lore

The Los Angeles Rams now have two players who belong to an extremely exclusive NFL club. Myles Garrett was officially revealed as the No. 1 player on the NFL Top 100 entering the 2026 season, a ranking voted on by his fellow players.

Garrett joins J.J. Watt and new Rams teammate Aaron Donald as the only defensive players ever to earn the No. 1 ranking.

Donald took the top spot in 2019 after another dominant season in Los Angeles. Seven years later, Garrett has joined him after putting together one of the greatest seasons ever by a pass rusher.

Garrett finished the 2025 campaign with an NFL-record 23 sacks, 33 tackles for loss, and his second Defensive Player of the Year award before the Rams acquired him from the Cleveland Browns in June.

Now, two of the three defensive players to ever sit atop the NFL Top 100 are teammates. That’s a terrifying thought for opposing offenses.

Donald is coming out of retirement after two seasons away, so it’s unrealistic to immediately expect the 35-year-old to be the same player who dominated the NFL for a decade. However, the Rams don’t need him to be. Garrett is currently at the peak of his career, and Los Angeles can surround him with Donald, Byron Young, Kobie Turner, and an impressive secondary headlined by Trent McDuffie.

The Rams already had the pieces to field one of the NFL’s best defenses. Adding Donald to a unit featuring the player his peers just voted as the best in football gives Los Angeles the potential to become something much more dominant.

Garrett was also ranked No. 1 on ESPN’s Top 100 players.
