When does NFL Draft prospect Caleb Banks expect to be fully healthy amid foot injury?
Former Florida defensive tackle Caleb Banks has been one of the most volatile prospects of the 2026 NFL Draft after suffering a freak foot injury during the Combine. The injury dropped Banks out of the first round on most mock drafts, but he expects to be fully recovered by the start of training camps.
At the time of his injury, Banks was expected to be on the mend until June. That timeline remains intact entering the draft, with Banks “on pace to be fully cleared for full football activities in early June,” ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported.
Injuries are the primary concern for Banks, who appeared in only two games in 2025. He ended his senior season with just six tackles and no sacks in his pair of games against Florida State and Tennessee.
However, Banks’ physical gifts are evident on film whenever he makes it onto the field. Although his reps were limited during the season, the 6-foot-6, 330-pound prospect dominated the Senior Bowl and opened eyes at the NFL Draft Combine, where he ran a 5.05-second 40-yard dash on his broken foot.

Before the injuries, Banks showed more of his ceiling during the 2024 college football season. He was still limited to eight games, but racked up 21 tackles and 4.5 sacks as a junior.
Banks is still considered a late first-round prospect by some, but many now view him as a high-upside early Day Two selection. He is currently the No. 2-rated defensive tackle prospect on NFL.com and Pro Football Focus and No. 3 on ESPN.
