Newcastle conceded 16 goals in the final ten minutes of Premier League matches last season, more than any other side in the division. It has already cost them this season, Liverpool’s stoppage-time penalty turning a home win into a 2-2 draw on the opening day. Bournemouth have now conceded on 84 minutes and in the 91st in their two games, so neither defence has shown it can see a match out.

The complication is that Bournemouth were the better side across last season. Newcastle, however, did win ten of their 19 home games and Elanga and Wissa have started the season in strong form. Bournemouth have been impressive, with Marco Rose having them press high, but they have faded late on in games and have given goals away at the stage where this one also looks likely to be settled
