Scottie Scheffler’s caddie earned more than a major champion in 2026 as staggering payday revealed

Scottie Scheffler made so much money in 2026 that his caddie likely took home enough to rank in the top 30 PGA Tour earners.

The world No. 1 overtook Tiger Woods‘ all-time record with $121 million banked over his career to date.

Almost $54 million of that came in 2026 thanks to inflated prize purses.

Scheffler will take the lion’s share, but Tedd Scott has been paid handsomely for holding his bag.

Caddies usually earn 10 percent of prize money for a win as a bonus, as well as payouts in the region of 7-8 percent for top-20 finishes and 5 percent for made cuts.

All partnerships are different, and Scheffler admits he isn’t sure how much he pays his bagman.

“It’s been a fun year. I don’t really think about the money that much. At the end of the day, I’m just playing golf and the money is just a gift on top of that,” he told Pardon My Take in 2024.

“We have a girl that helps us pay bills because I’m basically a child and can’t keep track of that stuff.

“She quickly took over that job and texts me at the end of each week saying. ‘Hey, this is how much we’re paying Ted.’ I’m like, ‘That’s great.'”

Golf Monthly has taken a stab at working out how much Scott could have earned and came up with a figure of $5.88 million.

That is more than Aaron Rai ($5.7 million) despite the Englishman’s incredible PGA Championship triumph.

It is not far off Ryan Fox either, as The Open Championship winner took home around $6.3 million.

LPGA Tour leader Nelly Korda who already has two majors this term also comes out just in front of Scott.

Scottie Scheffler had no interest in chasing LIV fortune

For a very rich man, money is not the be all and end all for Scheffler.

Scott shared some insight into his fiend’s mindset when LIV Golf was targeting the world’s best players and revealed that no amount of zeros would have been enough.

“I mean, the guy, literally, when I first started working for him, was 19th in the world and he had a white golf bag,“ Scott said on The Gravy & The Sleeze Podcast after Scheffler won the $10 million Tour Championship.

“I didn’t know him that well, and I asked him. I was like, ‘why don’t you have sponsors’? And he’s like, ‘well, because I just want to play with the equipment that I want to play’. And I was like, ‘okay’.

“And then I remember whenever all the LIV stuff was going on, you know, he was number one in the world at the time, I didn’t know, but I said, ‘They’re probably going to offer you like $250 million to go over there’.

“And he said, ‘I don’t care what they offer me. They can offer me a billion dollars. I’m going to play where the best players are because I just want to beat people’.

“I was like, ‘wow, this guy’s just different’, you know. So, the $10 million [Tour Championship prize] doesn’t matter to that guy, and you know, if we were in the pool playing volleyball, he would want to beat you just as bad as he wants to beat you at the FedEx Cup.

“You know, that’s the essence of who Scottie is and that’s what he loves. So I think partially part of his superpower is that the money doesn’t distract him.“
