UFC president Dana White blasted by fans online following controversial statement
UFC President Dana White has always been known for his controversial statements and loudmouth nature. Just years after his previous concerning statements regarding his Power Slap fighting promotion, White has now opened up regarding men’s mental health.
Recently, during an interview with TIME’s Sean Gregory ahead of the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event, White and USA President Donald Trump opened up about the match card as well as other topics.
“Talking about it publicly, I just feel like it opens the door to make young men think that it’s OK to just f**king go, ‘Oh, I’m having mental [health issues] (White says in a whiny voice),” White opened up on if men should talk about their mental health publicly.
“Handle it behind closed doors. Don’t show that weakness to anybody. I am unapologetically masculine. What is toxic masculinity? Who has it? Who’s too masculine?” the 56-year-old further claimed.
However, his comments did not sit well with the internet users, who immediately responded in their own style. Fans immediately brought up White’s controversial incident with his wife from 2022, where he had slapped her in public. Responding to his thoughts on men’s mental health, fans wrote, “Dude slapped his wife in public. Idk about this guy as a source for anything other than entertainment.”
Another fan wrote, “Taking mental health advice from a guy who hits his wife, what could go wrong?” While another fan politely stated that White was wrong on this case and how people should open up about their mental health issues.
In less than a month, UFC Freedom 250 is set to take place at the White House on Jun. 14, 2026.
