Dolphins’ offense stinks so bad Malik Willis was forced to stop practice

The Miami Dolphins have not exactly played well during the preseason and training camp joint practices thus far, with quarterback Malik Willis and the offense struggling to find much of a rhythm. Unfortunately, that trend continued in a major way on Tuesday.

“At one point today Malik Willis stopped Dolphins practice to call the entire offense together and deliver a message,” reported Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post on X, formerly Twitter.

Meanwhile, Schad also reported on X that “Dolphins’ Bobby Slowik says numerous QB pressures vs. Giants ‘can’t happen.'”

The disastrous effort comes just a week after the Dolphins’ offense was putrid in both joint practices with and a preseason game against the New York Giants earlier in training camp, with fans not exactly brimming with confidence ahead of the season.

It wasn’t all that long ago that Tua Tagovailoa and Mike McDaniel were setting NFL records routinely to open up the 2023 season in Miami, but since then, the Dolphins as a whole have fallen off a cliff, with both Tagovailoa and McDaniel having been moved on from following last season.

Now, Miami is expected by many to be among the worst teams in the league this year, although they did garner some praise for their signing of Willis, who showed some strong signs during his time with the Green Bay Packers.

In any case, the Dolphins are slated to open up what could be a long 2026 season on September 13 with a road game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
