Tyson Fury teases trilogy Oleksandr Usyk fight; Social media banter continues

Long rumored to fight Anthony Joshua later this year in Nov. 2026, Tyson Fury’s plans seem to have changed now. The Joshua vs. Fury match was suggested to be booked by boxing promoter Turki Alalsheikh, who wanted Dana White and Zuffa Boxing to head it. However, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn initiated legal proceedings and claimed their agreement forbade Zuffa from any participation.

There were contracts signed between Fury and Joshua for their Nov. 2026 fight. Unfortunately, issues over the fight’s location, as well as the involvement of White and Zuffa Boxing, have caused significant issues. Fury recently claimed that the fight is now over.

Shortly after, Fury spoke on social media and called out Joshua for allegedly backing out. He then proceeded to call out long-time rival and Joshua’s trainer, Oleksandr Usyk for a fight instead. While Usyk’s team initially rejected the proposal, the boxer himself has now responded.

Usyk shared his training video where he was spotted walking backwards on a treadmill. In the video, he called Fury out and shared a message with him. “Hey Tyson [Fury], I’m coming for you, my brother.”

“My brother from another mother, a proper, proper fighting man. You’re still a rabbit, and I’m the greedy belly 100 percent. But at the end of the day, you’re a fighting man, and I respect that to the hilt.

“This man has fought me twice; let’s do the trilogy. Let’s get it on like Donkey Kong, two real men who will fight at the drop of a hat. Proved it a thousand times, I am sick to death of s**t houses making a million demands and making a million promises but delivering absolutely nothing,” Fury responded via his Instagram stories.

While there have been no official confirmations from either side, Fury and Usyk are likely to cross paths now and finish their much-awaited trilogy. The two continued their social media banter, as fans hoped to see Fury come out on top this time after losing their last two fights.
