Ravens’ Lamar Jackson gets MVP prediction from rising MLB star
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will face an acid test in Week 1 as they will battle the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. It will be an intriguing matchup at quarterback between Jackson and Daniel Jones, who are both coming off injury-stricken campaigns.
Last season, Jackson had issues with his hamstring, knee, ankle, toe, and back, which limited him to 13 games. The Ravens failed to qualify for the playoffs after an 8-9 record.
Now that he is fully healthy and itching for redemption, many believe that the 29-year-old Jackson will have a bounce-back year. One of them is Bryce Eldridge of the San Francisco Giants. Eldridge is a big supporter of Jackson and the Ravens, as evidenced by his bold prediction.
“(They have a) new coach, so I’m not sure how exactly it’s gonna go. But what I do know is the last time Lamar had an injury-riddled season, the next year, he was the unanimous MVP. So Lamar for MVP this year. Go Ravens!” said Eldridge on NBC Sports Bay Area.

The 21-year-old designated hitter routinely cheered for the Ravens growing up in the DMV area, with Jackson being his favorite player. In fact, the two-time MVP is the reason why Eldridge wears No. 8 with the Giants.
Jackson has consistently been one of the NFL’s top signal-callers. He, however, has yet to get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl. It has been the biggest knock in his illustrious career.
Some claim that it could be a make-or-break season for the three-time All-Pro, especially since he is due for a contract extension. The negotiations between Jackson and the front office have stalled.
