Tottenham player Guglielmo Vicario bites back at Gabby Agbonlahor after club told to sell ’embarrassment’ in talkSPORT rant
Gabby Agbonlahor’s calls for Tottenham to sell Guglielmo Vicario were seemingly met with hostility… by the goalkeeper himself.
Former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor was less than impressed with Vicario’s antics during Spurs’ 1-0 win over Everton on Sunday which saw the north London side seal their Premier League survival.

Vicario was a substitute with Antonin Kinsky preferred but the Italian was still involved in some of the day’s drama.
Footage showed Vicario get into a tense touchline row with Everton defender Seamus Coleman, who was also on the bench, with both players being separated before they came to blows.
The five-cap Italy international was also seen cutting an animated figure in the technical area as Spurs saw out their all-important win to avoid relegation.
On Monday’s edition of The Sports Breakfast, Agbonlahor caned Vicario for his behaviour at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and also called on the club to get rid of the player.
Agbonlahor’s rant against Vicario
“These players should have been walking around the pitch on their hands and knees saying sorry to the fans,” Agbonlahor said.
“And Vicario, I’m watching the game and listening to the commentary, from Gary Neville, spot on. This goalkeeper has done nothing in a Spurs shirt, he’s been dreadful.
“And there’s a clip of him offering out Seamus Coleman. Vicario, we’ve seen you punch, mate. You can’t punch the ball. You’re not gonna be able to punch anybody.
“So we know you can’t fight. Have some respect for a Premier League legend in Seamus Coleman.
“But that summed up Vicario yesterday. All over the sideline trying to be a coach and jumping on the manager’s back when they scored the first goal.
“I think he’s an embarrassment to that football club. I’d get rid of him.”
Vicario bites back
Later on Monday, Vicario commented on the clip of Agbonlahor’s rant against him posted on our Instagram account.
In a cryptic comment, Vicario said: “Scary.”
To which Agbonlahor responded: “Bluffer.”
Vicario joined Spurs in the summer of 2023 from Empoli in his homeland and has been the club’s first choice between the sticks ever since.
At least it’s ever since the run-in of the 2025/26 season with Vicario not featuring in Spurs’ final seven matches of the campaign.
It should be noted that the first five of those matches saw Vicario recover from hernia surgery, however, he was available for their final two games but Kinsky was preferred.

Spurs summer
Consecutive 17th-place finishes in the Premier League show Spurs have a huge summer ahead with numerous comings and goings among their playing staff expected.
talkSPORT understands that Vicario has already agreed personal terms with Italian champions Inter Milan.
As well as Vicario, Agbonlahor urged Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi to immediately put Cristian Romero and Richarlison up for sale.
After his rant against Vicario, Agbonlahor said: “If I were Roberto De Zerbi this morning, I would make a list of players that I don’t want, I would contact them this morning and their agents.
“Richarlison, don’t come back to pre-season. Romero, don’t come back. There were so many of them players that I’d say do not come back to this football club.
“Two seasons in a row. It can’t be a coincidence, can it?”

Agbonlahor also pointed out how De Zerbi immediately transfer-listed Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe after a dressing room bust-up at Marseille.
He added: “He’s [De Zerbi’s] a ruthless guy. I remember there were two players in Marseille, Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe that had a fight.
“He just sold them straight away. He’s got that ruthlessness about him and he’s got to do it right now.”
