Tony Khan reveals Chris Jericho’s new AEW contract
Last week on the Wednesday Night Apr. 1, 2026, episode of Dynamite in Winnipeg, Canada, Chris Jericho made his shocking return. Absent for almost a year, Jericho shocked the crowd when he returned to a thunderous home crowd reaction.
Crushing all rumors and speculation of a potential WWE return, Jericho chose to come back “home” to All Elite Wrestling. With his previous contract supposedly over, Jericho has now inked a brand new contract. During the recently conducted AEW Dynasty media call, Tony Khan was asked about Jericho’s brand-new contract and status in AEW.
The All Elite Wrestling president confirmed the news of Jericho signing a brand new multi-year deal with AEW. Although no other specifics on the contract were shared, it is currently unknown when the contract runs out.
Within just two weeks of his return, Jericho is now scheduled to face Ricochet at the upcoming AEW Dynasty PPV on Apr. 12, 2026.
It was Chris Jericho’s decision to stay with AEW
Recently, speaking to Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo, Tony Khan opened up and revealed that Chris Jericho decided to remain with All Elite Wrestling. “I can’t say with any certainty. I do know that Chris had a choice, and he wanted to be in AEW,” he said. “He would be the best person to ask. But I know that I’ve been in communication with Chris. He told me he definitely wanted to be in AEW and very specifically in Winnipeg on that date. We’ve had that circled for a long time going back to last year.
