CeeDee Lamb burglarized during Cowboys training camp

CeeDee Lamb is the latest high-profile athlete to fall victim to a burglary while away at a game or practice.

The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver has been in Oxnard, Calif., for the last couple of weeks in training camp ahead of the 2026-2027 NFL season. According to police reports per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, on July 30, a burglar entered Lamb’s home through a broken window early in the morning. A worker who was doing a renovation job on the Cowboys star’s home reported the incident after finding that the home was broken into.

The police report finds that four luxury bags were reported stolen, valued at $300,000.

Over the past year, high-profile athletes have experienced home break-ins, including Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Travis Kelce, Shedeur Sanders, and even former Cowboys defensive tackle Linval Joseph. The robberies have occurred while the players were on the field, with no one being home at the time. However, the home of Richard Sherman and Saquon Barkley, had their families inside during the break-ins. NBA players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic have also been targeted.

Following the robberies the NBA and NFL put out a memo warning athletes and telling them to be vigilant.

The leagues told players to stay off of social media flaunting jewelry and clothing items and make sure their homes are protected with a security alarm.

“It is important for players to maintain situational awareness, practice social media safety, and implement home security measures to reduce the risk of becoming a target,” the memo reads.

It warned that in some cases “burglars are attempting to invade homes by disguising themselves as delivery drivers, neighbors out for a jog, or someone who works on properties.”

So far, three purported members of a South American theft group were arrested in March 2026 in an alleged connection to Kelce and Mahomes’ robberies in 2024. There have been no leads on Lamb’s case at this time.
