Jordan Clarkson drops mic on Knicks title repeat in return to hometown of San Antonio
The New York Knicks are less than two months away from kicking off their title defense after winning their first NBA championship in 53 years this past season. The Knicks were able to bring back most of their core from a year ago, including reserve Jordan Clarkson, who had some moments for the Knicks during their run to the championship in 2026.
Recently, Clarkson has been in his hometown of San Antonio, coincidentally where the Knicks won the championship against the San Antonio Spurs, and he spoke on how the group is already locked in on doing it again.
“It was amazing, but we put that behind us,” Clarkson said, per Mark Mendez and Mary Rominger of KSAT.com on X, formerly Twitter. “A lot of us already have; the celebration is done. Back to work and the goal is to do it again.”
Clarkson also spoke on the opportunity to give back to his local community in San Antonio.
“It’s big for us. It’s humbling,” Clarkson continued. “The experience of having this and seeing how much it’s grown over the years and how much we have impact and influence: people, the youth, the city, country of the Philippines. Us coming back impacting Texas, San Antonio, it’s just amazing.”
Clarkson injected the Knicks with some microwave scoring off the bench at times throughout this past season, including in the playoffs, knocking down big shots and providing the team with energy and a reliable veteran presence.
The reserve guard returned to the Knicks on a one-year deal in free agency this summer as he looks to help New York become the first team in nearly a decade to repeat as champions.
The Knicks will kick off their title defense on October 20 at home against LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers.
