Timothée Chalamet has over the top reaction to Knicks Game 2 win

Timothée Chalamet couldn’t hold his excitement for the New York Knicks’ NBA Finals Game 2 win against the San Antonio Spurs.

The diehard Knicks fan flew to San Antonio to see the New York team take on the Spurs for Game 2 of the NBA Finals. After the Knicks beat the Spurs in a nail-biter 105-104 win on Friday (June 5), the Dune actor was seen backstage jumping to hug another fan in excitement.

Chalamet has attended several Knicks games throughout the team’s playoff series and even went viral for a social media post about the struggles of being a diehard fan in the playoffs.

The Oscar-nominated actor shared a photo of himself with ice on his legs and a message on his June 4 Instagram Story, writing, “People underestimate the wear and tear on the body for a fan throughout the playoffs. Self care is important.”

Chalamet was not the only star power at Frost Bank Center to cheer on the Knicks, as Fat Joe, Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan, and former Knicks stars Walt “Clyde” Frazier and Allan Houston also made the trek to San Antonio.

As the Spurs’ back was against the wall in order to get one win before they head to Madison Square Garden, with 9.5 seconds left on the clock, Brunson sank the game-winning free throw, which ultimately ended the Spurs’ chances to get a win on the board. Moments before, Brunson went for the loose ball which drew a foul from Wembanyama.

Brunson spoke about the turnover postgame that allotted his moment to secure the win for the Knicks: “I saw he wasn’t looking so I just tried to go get it,” he explained. “Didn’t know if it was gonna go out of bounds, I just didn’t want Wemby to come and get it.”

The Knicks are now on their way back home to earn the franchise’s first title since 1973.

The New York Team will head to Madison Square Garden for Game 3 on Monday, June 8 as they lead he series 2-0. Tip-off is set to begin at 8:30 pm ET.
