Stephen A Smith goes off on Knicks’ Mike Brown after Game 3 loss: ‘Honeymoon is over’

The New York Knicks have found themselves down 2-1 in their series against the Atlanta Hawks, and there are many fans in disbelief. In Game 3, the Knicks were down as much as 18 points, but they roared back late to take the lead with a few seconds remaining.

Just like the Hawks did in Game 2, they gave CJ McCollum the ball, and he went to work, this time putting the Hawks up by one point. The Knicks had 12 seconds to win the game, but they were not able to get a shot off, and the Hawks walked away with another win.

Knicks fans have woke up angry, but there’s probably nobody more upset than Stephen A. Smith, who went nuclear on the team and head coach Mike Brown on First Take.

“[There’s] gonna be another head coach in New York City if they lose this series,” Smith said. “Several players are going to be gone from New York City. I’m so sick of what I’m seeing right now. I love Mike Brown, but I’m very unhappy right now. The New York Knicks are stinking up the joint. Leon Rose, the honeymoon is over.

“Right now, you’re on the verge of going home. You can’t lose Game 4. You can’t go down 3-1 to the Atlanta Hawks.”

Smith thinks that the Knicks are just finding new ways to hurt themselves, and it’s led to them going down 2-1 with a pivotal game upcoming back in Atlanta.

“One minute you’re up 14, you’re losing a game. Another minute you’re down 18, you come back and still lose the game. You’re inventing new ways to lose. This is unacceptable. If the New York Knicks lose this series, heads need to roll,” Smith said.

Game 4 is a must-win for the Knicks, because not many teams come back from being down 3-1 in the playoffs.
