Stefon Diggs drops truth bomb after 1st practice with Commanders

The Washington Commanders added some help in their wide receiver room this week, and it was no one other than Stefon Diggs. There were rumors throughout the entire offseason that the Commanders were looking for another receiver, and Diggs was one of the names who continued to pop up.

Diggs just had his first practice with the team, and he seems impressed with the players already.

“It’s good being around other players that can ball,” Diggs said. “It’s going to be hard to double somebody in this offense. You’ve got guys that can make plays and guys that can make plays out of the backfield. You’ve got a mobile quarterback. The biggest thing for me is just my commitment to the game. I play outside, I play inside, a little bit of the backfield if they let me.”

Diggs can definitely be put everywhere around the field, and he’s shown that throughout his career. It was one of the reasons why the New England Patriots were so successful last season and made it all the way to the Super Bowl.

One player that Diggs spoke highly of after practice was Terry McLaurin, and he noted that he was a fan of what he brings to the field.

“I’ve seen Scary Terry for a long time. He’s one hell of a playmaker. You see him on the highlights, popping up on the screen on ESPN,” Diggs said via Scott Blair of SB Nation. “I’m inspired by and I admire his game from an intensity standpoint and the passion he plays with. It’s similar to myself. We talked about that a little when I got here. I’m a fan of his game.”

Now that the Commanders have a solidified WR2 in the room, it might be time to take them more seriously when the season begins.
