The future Hall of Famer Titans WR Carnell Tate compares his game to

The Tennessee Titans found a new weapon for quarterback Cam Ward in the 2026 NFL Draft by using the No. 4 overall pick on wide receiver Carnell Tate. While he is getting comfortable in Brian Daboll’s offense and learning what it’s like to be an NFL player, the former Ohio State Buckeyes star revealed which future Hall of Famer he compares himself to.

While talking with Kurt Warner and Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network, Tate was asked which current player in the league he would compare himself to. The 21-year-old wideout quickly named Los Angeles Rams superstar Davante Adams. Tate credits Adams for heading into his 13th season in the NFL, and seemingly loves the way the Rams star plays the game of football.

“I’d probably say [Davante] Adams,” Tate said when asked who he’d compare himself to. “He’s done it at an elite level. He’s one of the best. He’s continuing to go out there and prove it… That’s why I used to wear 17.”

If Carnell Tate is anything like Davante Adams, then the Titans would have a legitimate superstar on their hands. Adams has found success nearly everywhere he’s played, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark six times in his career. Additionally, he’s reached six Pro Bowls and has been named to the First-Team All-Pro three times (2020, 2021, 2022).

Tate is just beginning his career and has a chance to make an immediate impact for a Titans offense that desperately needs firepower. Although he was never the No. 1 target at Ohio State, he is now expected to become the main option in the passing game moving forward. Tate ended his collegiate career with 121 receptions, 1,872 yards, and 14 touchdowns in three seasons with the Buckeyes.
