Rams’ Puka Nacua, Davante Adams draw ‘pain in the a**es’ evaluation from 49ers’ Raheem Morris

San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris didn’t mince words about the challenge of limiting the production of the Los Angeles Rams’ receiving duo Puka Nacua and Davante Adams ahead of Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season.

Nacua and Adams have been a duo in the Rams’ offense since the 2025 campaign. They stand out as fierce threats to opposing defenses, shining as one of the top receiving duos in the league.

This is certainly the case when they have star quarterback Matthew Stafford targeting them for multiple plays. Los Angeles is due for a big game against San Francisco, which paved the way for Morris to say this about Nacua and Adams before the season opener commences.

“They’re pain in the a**es,” Morris said, per reporter Sarah Barshop.

What lies ahead for Puka Nacua, Rams this season

The Rams stand out as serious Super Bowl contenders, especially with the weapons they boast on offense. Not only that, but they also have Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald headlining the defense, making this squad dangerous going into the 2026 NFL season.

Nacua dominated in Year 3 of his career, having his best season to date. He caught 129 passes for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns while recording 10 rushes for 105 yards and a touchdown.

As for Adams, he had a solid year as the second option in the receiving corps. He made 60 receptions for 789 yards and 14 touchdowns, showing his ability to score in big moments.

The Rams seek to improve upon their 12-5 record last season and make the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. This will be the first season since 2022 without Mike LaFleur as offensive coordinator, as he departed to become the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

Los Angeles looks forward to the start of its season, traveling internationally to Australia. They begin the campaign against the San Francisco 49ers as kickoff takes place on Sept. 10 at 8:35 p.m. ET.
