Rams’ Aaron Donald workout gets ‘outstanding’ Sean McVay review

Aaron Donald has not played in an NFL game since January 14, 2024, and yet, there has not been much concern about rust or his level of effectiveness. The prevailing opinion around the football-watching public is this: if the all-time great feels physically good enough to commit to a full campaign, then he will make a visible impact on an already daunting Los Angeles Rams defense. The head coach reiterated that stance following what is being described as a workout for the ages.

Sean McVay said Donald is “feeling good, but we’re not to where we are able to say whether or not he is or isn’t ready to do it,” ESPN NFL Nation’s Sarah Barshop reported on Thursday. “But he’s doing great and he looked outstanding [in Tuesday’s workout], as I think all of us would expect.”

Since a potential return started gaining steam, there has seemingly been no hesitancy on the Rams’ side. The idea of pairing two-time Defensive Player of the Year and single-season sacks record-holder Myles Garrett with an eight-time First-Team All-Pro defensive tackle (only played 10 seasons) is just too tantalizing for LA to resist. Donald obviously feels the same way, otherwise he would not even consider a comeback.
